Bluesky has shared draft visuals of its new paid subscription service, Bluesky+. The company indicates that it is very close to unveiling this new subscription service alongside these visuals. Bluesky+ aims to offer premium features to its users and is expected to be a substantial revenue stream for the platform.

Bluesky previously announced in October that it secured $15 million in funding and was working on a subscription model. The company shared draft visuals for the newly named Bluesky+ subscription on GitHub.

Bluesky+ aims to deliver a new experience with premium features

Among the features depicted in these visuals are higher quality video uploads, profile customization options, and avatar frames as part of its premium content. Additionally, Bluesky’s subscription plan may also include unique app icons, bookmark folders, post analytics, and analysis features.

Bluesky is also considering offering verification features (like profile badges) in conjunction with the subscription; however, this is not a finalized plan yet. The company noted that the “coming soon” tag for the subscription plan is merely part of user interface testing. Furthermore, it is rumored that Bluesky+ could be priced at around $8 per month or $72 per year, although these prices have not been confirmed yet. Jay Graber, the CEO of Bluesky, stated that they are also exploring additional revenue models beyond subscriptions.
