Now, another country has followed suit and banned DeepSeek. Taiwan has prohibited the use of DeepSeek within its government and infrastructure sectors.

The decision was announced a few days ago by Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs. The reason for the ban in government institutions and infrastructure sectors was cited as concerns over data leaks and cross-border data transfers.

Since DeepSeek has gained popularity, many experts have warned about the company’s potential obligation to share data with the Chinese government due to its origin. Chinese laws compel companies to share data with intelligence agencies. Taiwanese authorities highlighted this issue, warning users about the risk of sensitive information being exposed.
