Circle, PDF ve URL desteği ile güncelleniyor!
Google is enhancing the **Circle to Search** experience under the name “Ask about screen.” According to Android Authority, the new feature detected in the Google app **v17.18.24 beta** version now includes not just on-screen visuals but also URLs, page content, and **PDF documents** in the search. This allows for more contextual answers through the **Google Search AI Mode** utilizing web pages in Chrome and PDF files in Files by Google.
Circle to Search enables users to start searches directly from on-screen text, images, or videos without switching apps on Android. The existing “Search using your whole screen” feature combines screenshots with Google’s AI Mode to generate suggestions and search results. Google’s official description positions this capability as a practical way to quickly search using on-screen content.
In the new beta version, the search box displays the text “Ask about screen,” accompanied by a description stating “Search with more context,” highlighting that the system automatically sends relevant context to Google. This context encompasses data beyond the screenshot, including **URL**, page content, and **PDF documents**.

According to Android Authority, the feature was triggered in both Google Chrome and Files by Google. In these examples, AI Mode considers not only the visible section of the screen but also the broader content of the page or PDF to prepare a response. Conversely, the Gemini overlay provides a similar reading experience in Chrome and Files apps while allowing for additional controls such as model selection.
Google AI Mode incorporates more content into searches
The advantage of Circle to Search becomes evident in its shortcut for quickly initiating searches. Holding down the power button or using the navigation bar makes it easier to search without leaving the on-screen content. Therefore, the name “Ask about screen” describes a search experience that not only looks at visuals but also understands the page or document it resides in.

Currently, the beta rollout is happening gradually. If Google is satisfied with the test results, the changes could transition to a stable release in the coming days or weeks. When the stable version is released, **Circle to Search** will become a more useful search shortcut for Android users incorporating PDF reading, web page context, and AI Mode responses.
